PROJECT MANAGER / ESTIMATOR

Claude H. Nix Construction/Jasco, Inc. has immediate openings for Project Manager/Estimator. The PM/Estimator will visit the job site, request necessary documents for accurate bid proposals, perform accurate quantity take-offs, write comprehensive scope letters, follow-up on bids, research low bidders and maintain a database of own work. Candidates must have strong communication and computer skills and a true interest in trenchless construction. Degree preferred but equivalent experience acceptable. Initial employment may include 1 year in field work.

Responsibilities include:

* Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labor and equipment for trenchless construction projects based on contract bid, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications.
* Advise on bid tendering procedures, examine and analyze award criteria, and prepare documentation.
* Establish and maintain cost monitoring, reporting systems and procedures.
* Prepare cost and expenditure statements for specific projects. Cost estimates and final costs to be reviewed with Management staff following completion of a projects.
* Maintain an existing directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
* During bidding process, communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors.
* Upon award of project, manage and co-ordinate with management and field staff to prepare schedules and progress analysis.
