Laboratory Coordinator, Mining Engineering Department

Mr. Yoshioka provides technical, logistical, and administrative support to all sections of the Mining Engineering Department, focusing on maximizing learning and teaching opportunities for undergraduate and graduate classroom, and research activities.

 Assists in providing laboratory instruction for Mineral Processing and Rock Mechanics.

  • Maintains, modifies, and repairs industrial laboratory equipment such as Ro-Taps, Flotation Machines, Knelson Concentrators, Jaw and Roll Crushers, Ball and Rod Mills, Magnetic Separators, etc.
  • Provides modifications to, and upgrades of, facilities and procedures for increased efficiency and safety.
  • Provides support for the Earth Mechanics Institute (EMI), Edgar Experimental Mine (Experimental Mining Lab), Mining Health and Safety Section, and AXPRO (Explosives Technology section).
  • Dedicated to providing a safe and meaningful laboratory learning experience.
  • Leads departmental Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S) compliance program.
  • Maintains equipment records and performs inventory management activities.
